What does a life coach do?
A life coach helps you to develop a plan to achieve your goals.
If you want to achieve your dreams, you’ve got to have a plan. You do! But, first you have to be willing to pull the trigger. And that might mean you’ll have to work through some ambivalence . . . which could be about many different things.
Ambivalence can point to confusion between two ideas or two different paths you want to take, it could mean you have some fear about what it takes to move forward, or it might mean you have some competing values surrounding your idea.
Whatever ambivalence is pointing to, I’ll walk along side you as you figure that part out.
Then, comes the plan!
And this is a really important step. Some of our best ideas fizzle because we didn’t have a plan! Ask anyone who feels they have been successful in their endeavors and they’ll tell you they had a well, thought-out plan. I will help you develop this plan and guide you as it’s implemented over time.
A life coach helps you to find your dream.
Do you keep pushing that dream down because it feels like it’s just too big of a step to take? Or, maybe you bring the idea up with friends and family, and because they want to protect you, they bring up all the reasons why your idea, your dream, won’t work.
As your coach, I help to validate those dreams and ideas. And, we’ll work together to break the dream down into steps that feel a lot more manageable. And when you accomplish the first part of any goal, it gives you the energy and enthusiasm to go the next round. It’s contagious!
Have you ever heard of the Inner Critic? Of course, we know of those outer critics . . . they usually consist of well-meaning friends and family members who can be naysayers and can discourage us. But the Inner Critic is just as powerful in squashing great ideas. When you begin to work towards achieving your dream, you may be surprised by the number of people who will try to keep you from it. You also might be surprised by how often your thoughts are the biggest obstacle you need to overcome.
Did you know that we entertain about between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts a day and most of those can be pretty negative. We’re not even aware of them. The Inner Critic creates a lot of those negative messages and stops us dead in our tracks.
But a life coach can help you to identify these negative self beliefs. A life coach can help you confront the messages and can help you foster more positive and hopeful themes. It takes some coaching and some practice, but just like building muscles, slowly but surely, you can start to see a difference. Negative self talk is toxic to achieving your dreams, so changing this pattern needs to happen soon! The thing about toxic thoughts is that they can be comforting and familiar. They can be so familiar you don’t recognize them for what they truly are.
As your life coach, I can identify and help you eliminate limiting self beliefs and put you on a path that is more positive.
The most important thing a life coach does is to help you start living the life you deserve. Every day you wait is another day wasted. Don’t let the chaos and confusion of your day-to-day life get in the way of achieving and living your dreams.
Life coaching is a positive experience.
Can you use your imagination a little bit here with me? Can you imagine saying to yourself, “Wow! I am content, satisfied, fulfilled and energetic. I feel confident and strong. And I no longer have toxic people in my life.” What would it take for you to say that? What would have to happen? Let me help you figure that out. It can happen! But you have to get moving! One step at a time!
It is possible to create the life you desire and deserve.
